Can art bend the future?
Ping-Pong Between Art and Knowledge invites artists, writers, thinkers and cultural workers whose practices ask how art might bend the future, and which futures are worth bending towards.
We ask whether art has the power to change how we think about the future, to shift the ways we perceive it, and to reframe the forms of communication through which we share these visions.
The residency offers a dedicated space in the centre of Berlin for concentrated dialogue and exploration at the intersection of art, philosophy and science. It is a place to test ideas, and to sit with questions that resist easy answers.
At Ping-Pong, we are particularly interested in projects that look closely at the complexity of technology, reaching beyond its practical uses to investigate how it merges with artistic thinking and imagination.
In this light, we welcome work that engages with emerging technologies as both a material and a cultural condition: one that can generate new ways of sensing, knowing, and speculating about possible futures.
We value processes that remain open, exploratory and experimental, pursuing questions whose answers have yet to be found. We encourage projects that challenge familiar perspectives, unsettle assumptions and expand our collective vocabulary for thinking and talking about what lies ahead.
The residency is not about predicting the future; it is about finding new ways to approach it, to imagine it and perhaps even to bend it.
As a resident, you’ll have:
A residency of between two weeks and two months, depending on what your project needs
A flexible live/work space for up to two people, designed for collaboration and focused work
The chance to host public events, talks or workshops, with our support
Time and space to develop your project in a setting that values experimentation and exchange
Cost for the entire apartment: €50 per week
Single day use: The cleaning fee (if necessary).
High-speed Wi-Fi
Artist studio suitable for “clean work”
Fully equipped kitchen
Spacious bathroom with shower and washing machine
Apartment layout adaptable into two separate bedrooms
Ping-Pong has previously hosted internationally recognised artists and remains committed to fostering innovative projects at the intersection of art, technology, and society.
