micro resident: Jena Jang

Jena Jang will stay at ping-pong in October and Jang (KR) is an experimental vocal and noise improviser, and somatic performance artist based in Prague, Czechia. Jang works with powerful vibrations of analogue electronic sound and high-pitched frequencies using hand-made modular synths, which they continuously develop. Drawing from Buddhist chanting, yogic breathing, throat singing, and traditional Korean music such as Pansori and Shamanic rituals, their performances incorporate headbanging, crawling, and repetitive movements, transforming negative memories and traumas into positive energy.
